All about me

My name is Nikki and I’m a wife, momma and a stay at home mom. Scott and I were married in 2010. We started our family in 2012, and never planned to have  3 kids in 3 & 1/2 years! Jeffrey, Cecilia and Elliott make us a family of 5!

I originally wanted to start a blog in September 2015, to write about my adventures as a new stay at home mom.  I came up with the title “This is the pause button” because when I quit my job, I felt I was putting everything I had worked for professionally, well, on hold. I wanted and still plan to, write about my kids, family, and our life lessons.

But it’s funny how life works. The reason I finally started writing was a therapeutic way for me  journal about my journey while battling cancer. I kept the title, because it just felt right.

I hope you enjoy reading it, take something away to be a better person and to take care of yourself, be kinder to others and may be even laugh a little.

You never know what someone else is going through, and well, some people are simply jerks!

  1. Nikki, I found out you had a blog this week and read from end to beginning, a little backwards, but that’s how I roll…. 🙂 Your entries that talked about your dad got to me the most!! Best of luck to you through this terrible journey you are being made to take. My family prays for your healing and your family each day! Take Care!!! (Sara (Bloemer) Thoele)

  2. Nikki, I just spent the last 40 minutes (at work at my desk, ssshh) reading your entire blog. My mom told me about the blog and I wanted to check it out for just a minute but once I started reading it I couldn’t stop. I did all the things you hoped it would do including making me think, realize some things, learn some things and of course laugh. Im inspired by you and appreciate your perspective both in the heat of the moments and the hindsight. Thank you for sharing. I will be praying for you, Scott, and your two precious babies! And as I know you already know. . . God always has the better plan.
